About Event

This workshop is hosted by Chelsea Akuleut, CEO of Carbon4Good, a groundbreaking sustainability initiative that generates carbon credits from the impactful biochar-based work of PlantVillage and PlantVillage+. Previously, she coordinated a team of 21 in PlantVillage to plant 1.3 million trees in 13,500 farms in Kenya. PlantVillage is a recognised two-time winner of the Elon Musk Carbon XPRIZE competition.

The workshop provides an overview of PlantVillage+'s approach to co-development and leveraging AI technology to foster innovation. It includes a showcase of the biochar app and its features, ensuring transparency in carbon projects through AI-driven monitoring, reporting, and accountability, as well as how  PlantVillage + provides inputs to farmers for sustainable biomass production.

Through case studies and practical, real-life examples, the emphasis is on community engagement and empowerment.

You must be registered for the East Africa Carbon Markets Forum to attend the workshop.
