Munay Bodydance with Alejandra
This isn’t just a dance class; It is a wild fusion between the roots of yoga, dance movement therapy, modern and sensual dance, ballet, and muscle strengthening, with an emphasis on mindfulness and liberation, all based on the healing power of movement.
"Munay" comes from the Quechua language and translates to eternal, unconditional love or care. It embodies a profound energy that connects individuals to love and willpower. For Indigenous peoples, this concept represents a holistic way of life, emphasizing the importance of living from the heart while respecting one’s body, soul, and mind.
In this class, participants will experience this essence of Munay, feeling the flow of breath and the freedom of dance to embrace the love for life.
Tickets are on a sliding scale.
About Your Host:
Alejandra Heredia is a dancer and psychologist who embarked on her journey in dance and free movement during her 20s. This experience significantly contributed to her personal development and helped her discover her true essence and well-being. She is passionate about supporting and learning from women, believing in the importance of creating spaces where they can be themselves and feel free from societal pressures.
