2nd Africa-UK Space Partnership Roundtable
Africa and UK have a long-standing relationship. The multi-layer relationship cuts across education, trade and global affairs. To this end, the African Space Leadership Institute (ASLI) in partnership with the UK Space Agency (UKSA) is organisng the 2nd Africa-UK Space Partnership Roundtable.
The virtual roundtable, with the theme, “Towards a Framework for Africa-UK Space Partnership,” is scheduled to be held on 13th November 2024, from 10h00 - 15h30 GMT.
This roundtable follows from the first edition that was held on 22nd November 2023, with the theme “Exploring Potential Opportunities for Africa-UK Space Partnership.” Representatives from the African Union Commission (AUC), national space agencies, industry and academia discussed the potential avenues and mutual benefits that can accrue from the Africa-UK partnership in the space sector, including ecosystem development, shared learning, industry and academic exchanges as well as reaching common positions on space governance issues.
The forthcoming roundtable consist of two keynote addresses and three panels. The theme of the first panel is policy and governance, the second panel is on industry partnerships, while the third panel is on academia and research partnerships.

The forthcoming virtual roundtable also serves as a precursor to an in-person UK-Africa Space Forum, scheduled to take place from 11-12 March 2025, at London Exeter.
