​This is a meetup for leaders working in technology, including engineering, product, design, and more.

This meetup is for you if you are leading people working with technology.

​​It's for social interaction, and more importantly, it's for sharing work experiences and challenges so we can all learn from one another.

​Some things to note about these events:

​* We have capped the numbers for these sessions to ensure everyone can meet everyone else (if they choose).

* We cater to different time slots, days of the week, and venue types, as we want this to be inclusive and for everyone to feel welcome.

This differentiates these sessions from other networking events, which are larger and more intimidating to navigate.

​Why run these? Daniel's initial motivation.

​Leading in technology can be challenging, and we often lack sufficient support.

Sometimes, this is because we feel too busy to ask for help, or more often, help just isn't available.

​​When we are new to leadership, we often find ourselves needing to build a completely new set of skills than what our previous career experience prepared us for.

​​Even as experienced leaders, we often find ourselves dealing with friction and wondering if there are other strategies we could employ to reduce it and achieve greater success more quickly.

​​Throughout my life, I've had a group of peers with whom I could learn and share experiences in the cities where I've lived. I would like that experience here in Auckland, both for your benefit and for mine.

​​My career experience has shown me that it's beneficial to have a support network and to share experiences with others who may be going through a similar situation.

​​Also, I arrived in NZ during the pandemic, so it was an odd start to life here in Auckland. I am eager to participate in more social activities, and I've met many people in a similar situation.

Given the number of North Shore and city-based technology leaders who have expressed interest, we have decided to host these events in multiple locations - thus far, CBD, Parnell, Takapuna, and now Onehunga.

We now have some members who help organise the North Shore events and are open to others contributing in the same way, should you like to see a regular event occurring in your area. If that's you, please get in touch!
