Virtual Founder Talk: Guy Gal

​Guy Gal is founder/CEO of Side Real Estate, which, 4 years from founding, hit unicorn status at $2.5B valuation. Side has now raised more than $250M from investors like Tiger, ICONIQ and D1. 

​Guy is a no-nonsense ‘think-bigger’ personality. He is allergic to playing small and not someone to hold back telling you that. If ‘telling it to you as it is’ is a marker of ‘true friendship’, Guy is the instant best friend all of us never had - challenging us to think bigger, think differently, take larger steps, be smarter and he’s not afraid to tell you that.

​Guy will join the EH List to talk about his experience company building - from Toronto to LA to SF. Guy initially built Joyus, a video publisher, in 2011 which he sold to Kingmaker in 2013. This venture brought him to Los Angeles and eventually SF where he served as VP Business Development at Joyus until 2015. 

​In 2015, Guy became an EIR at the blue chip venture capital firm Matrix Partners where he got behind the scenes insight into deal-making at top tier VCs. 

​Shorly afterwards, in 2017, Guy founded Side Real Estate. 

​Side has pioneered the BaaS model —> Brokerage-as-a-Service. In 2024, Side was named the ninth largest brokerage by volume in the USA, all while only operating in 17 states. Side now has 600+ market-leading boutique brokerages powered by it’s service and a bright future ahead of it.
