About Event

Overview:
Join the Boston Impact Initiative (BII) for an engaging Integrated Capital Card Workshop, an interactive session to empower lenders, grantors, and small business ecosystem leaders to integrate financial, social, and knowledge-based resources to support economic and racial equity. Using BII’s Integrated Capital Card Deck, participants will explore impact investing and innovative strategies to help close the racial wealth divide and drive meaningful impact in the communities they serve.

What to Expect:

  • Introduction to Integrated Capital: Discover how combining financial, knowledge, social, and political capital can catalyze opportunities for funders, nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and their communities. Learn how BII uses integrated capital to blend investments such as grants, debt, and equity, meeting businesses where they are in their growth journeys.

  • Hands-On Learning: Using the Integrated Capital Card Deck, participants will work through real-life BII impact investment case studies. They will explore how different tools and resources can be aligned to address the needs of small businesses and advance economic justice.

  • Insights from the Field: Hear how integrated capital has been used to increase small business ownership, climate resilience, and community wealth-building, focusing on supporting businesses in communities of color.

Who Should Attend:
This session is designed for members of the Grantmakers Council of RI and others in philanthropy, as well as small business ecosystem leaders passionate about fostering equitable economic growth and seeking practical tools to amplify their impact.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Develop an understanding of impact investing and its role in driving racial and economic justice.

  2. Learn how to blend diverse forms of capital to address systemic barriers small businesses face.

  3. Identify actionable strategies for small businesses.
