About Event

Using an environmental damage example, Anca will highlight the significance of risk governance in shaping the future, and then explore the importance of responsible communication in managing catastrophic risks, using artificial intelligence (AI) as a primary illustration.

We'll have a presentation followed by a Q&A session, and then we'll have a casual apero.

Anca Rusu works as a Project Manager at the International Risk Governance Center (IRGC) located at EPFL, where she contributes to demonstrating and implementing IRGC concepts in risk governance across multiple domains. Anca's primary focus is on anticipating future risks associated with emerging technologies, with a particular emphasis on digital advancements. Apart from her role at IRGC, Anca is pursuing a PhD at Paris Dauphine University that explores the use of communication to enhance decision-making related to emerging technology. Her research investigates the role of responsible organizational communication in governing future risks, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence.
