About Event

The workforce development sector plays a critical role in supporting individuals and communities, but this vital work often comes at a cost. Workforce practitioners face high caseloads, complex client needs, and systemic challenges that contribute to elevated stress levels, burnout, and turnover. These pressures, compounded by persistent issues like pay inequity, representation gaps in leadership, and the enduring impacts of the pandemic, hinder the ability to sustain a healthy and effective workforce.

We want to co-design strategies to create a workforce system that prioritizes the well-being of staff and clients.

Join Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW) and Workforce Professionals Training Institute (WPTI), in collaboration with NYCETC, for the launch of a new listening and co-design series. During this session, we’ll explore these challenges, gather insights from workforce professionals, and co-design actionable strategies to build a healthier, more resilient workforce.

What to Expect

1 pm - 2 pm: Networking Lunch

2 pm - 4 pm: Facilitated Discussion and Activities

Attendees will work in groups of 6-8 peers occupying similar positions, completing a series of interactive activities.

With support from WPTI and CSW facilitators, groups will assess the current wellness challenges and opportunities within the workforce sector. Next, groups will reflect on how wellness interventions could impact participant and staff experiences. Lastly, groups will prioritize opportunity areas and make one recommendation back to the larger group.

Facilitators

This event will be facilitated by Sherazade Langlade and Justin Collins of WPTI, and by Chioke Mose-Telesford, Alex Breen, Jessica Carr, and Chris Shannon of CSW.
