Join entrepreneurship@UBC, and Marie-Josée Privyk and Gigi Dawe from the Canada Climate Law Initiative on Tuesday, June 11th to learn how Canadian businesses can respond to increasing demand for climate-related financial risk management. This includes climate financing opportunities, Canadian climate risks, and governance opportunities. About Canada Climate Law Initiative

The Canada Climate Law Initiative (CCLI) provides businesses and regulators with climate governance guidance so they can make informed decisions towards a net-zero economy. Powered by the nation’s top expertise, we engage with boards of directors and trustees to ensure businesses understand their legal duties with respect to climate change. Our legal research allows us to stay one step ahead in a rapidly transforming policy landscape.

About the Speakers:

Marie-Josée Privyk is an ESG Advisor and founder of FinComm Services, providing companies with sustainability reporting advisory services tailored to their needs and circumstances. Her deep expertise helps companies cut a clear path to decision-useful ESG and sustainability reporting as part of an effective management program that creates value for the company and for society.

Gigi Dawe led the Corporate Oversight and Governance department at Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). As such, she oversaw CPA Canada’s development of influential, thought-leading resources and events that improve board performance. Gigi launched the governance discipline at CPA Canada to facilitate enhanced board and executive response to market demands. Her history includes consulting in organizational development in a variety of industries.
