About Event

#RaiseTheGame and Huhbub would love to invite you to our networking mixer event in celebration of Pride Month. This event is also in partnership with The Common Press Bookshop, Moonlight Experiences and Code Coven.

The event will feature an array of Fireside Chats with varied speakers who will have discussions around different elements of storytelling, including how to ensure fair representation on and off-screen, what skills are needed for a career revolved around narratives & stories, and why the craft is impactful to people, especially underrepresented audiences.

Ultimately, an evening exploring the Power of Storytelling through memorable and dynamic conversation that demystifies storytelling in video games through the lens of BIPOC and/or Queer creatives.

UPDATE: The Fireside Chats of the event will be livestreamed via YouTube that you can access here!

Once the fireside chats conclude, this will be followed by food and refreshments.

The Common Press plan to curate a selection of books to match the event as well - appealing to video game players, game developers and those interested in telling diverse stories.

Venue Accessibility

Unfortunately, the areas of the Common Press Bookshop we'll be using don't have access to a lift or assistive technology.

However, this is why we intend to livestream the Fireside Chats so that those who can't attend in-person due to this restriction can still be involved in some manner.

In Support Of Code Coven

We are proud to support one of our #RaiseTheGame supporters, Code Coven, through the event as the organisation has launched a new fundraiser to raise the critical funds needed to continue Code Coven’s Academy programs in 2024. Code Coven’s Academy programs help marginalised developers create their own games, start their own studios, and level up their skillsets and portfolios.

If you like to support the cause and make a donation, please visit Code Coven’s GoFundMe page.
