4th SD Hardware Meetup @ Performant Manufacturing | Connectivity and the Cloud
We're back for another Hardware Meetup! Thank you to our friends at Andrews Cooper and Belwest for helping make the evening possible.
This month we're meeting at Performant Manufacturing's new space in Barrio Logan, and focused on a topic near-and-dear to any hardware professionals putting their products on the internet. We have a great panel planned with professionals from the Google Cloud team, Passage, and Andrews Cooper.
Our panelists
Aaron Young is a senior electrical engineer at Andrews Cooper. He has 15 years experience in hardware design for consumer and medical products with experience at Philips for defibrillators and Meta on Oculus VR systems. He has been responsible for developing Defibrillators, VR headsets, household electronics, and electronics test equipment. He has focused on product design in the IOT market. For example with a product called 'Joule' - a smart kitchen device that sends/receives data utilizing a cloud interface. At Andrews Cooper Aaron has started an internal IOT project to serve as a starting point for companies wanting to design a device with cloud capabilities.
Robert Castruita has over 20 years of IT work experience, including extensive experience in a large enterprise network and systems design implementation for maintaining critical world-wide communications systems. Robert has had a colorful career supporting the Creative Artists Agency, Dell Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton, VMware and most recently Google. His overall architectural expertise translated directly into client success through the development of engineering and design implementation. He has managed and spearheaded efforts in the planning and development of Cloud IT architecture and network-based designs.

As an EIR at Logitech, Curt started and ran a team that created a new product and service across both hardware and software. He also has spent time at some of the best design consultancies in the world, running both design and UX teams at leading shops like fuseproject in San Francisco, CA and frog design in Germany. Curt loves to travel and has lived in Germany, Finland and Russia. An avid sailor with his own vessel, Curt can be found off the California coast most weekends.
