tFUS Society: The State of Research & Development

This week, we will discuss the current state of research and development within the tFUS Society and our roadmap for the next 6 months of work.

Our current focus, Project Sonus, is our open-source simulation and replication of an academic paper that does ultrasonic full waveform inversion (FWI) to image the human brain.

​​What is tFUS?: Transcranial-focused ultrasound (tFUS) is the most promising non-invasive brain stimulation technology. It has been shown to safely modulate brain function at millimeter resolution, even in deep brain regions.

​​​​Who are we?: tFUS Society is a group of technical enthusiasts, researchers, and founders. Our goal is to accelerate the development of tFUS technology by sharing information, resources, and ideas.
