About Event

You're invited to Capital Angel Network's (CAN) seventh event on 24 February at the Centre for Design and Innovation!

Join us at the Centre for Design and Innovation for an evening with fireside chats, panels, and networking.

Our next event will be on 24 February, when we will celebrate and discuss digital innovation at the intersection of the arts and sciences at the brand new Centre for Design and Innovation at St Paul's Girls' School. As digital's dominance in the world grows, the event is pitched to be of interest to all, whether they work in publishing, media, professional services or even property. The event will take the form of a fireside chat and Q&A followed by networking, with all welcome. Further CAN events with a return to including start-up pitches will be held in June and October 2025. To attend the event, please register with your details to be added to the guest list.

Our fireside chat is moderated by Tom Adeyoola (Old Pauline), co-founder, Extend Ventures, non-executive board member of Channel 4 and member of the government’s new Creative Industries Taskforce led by Baroness Shriti Vadera and Sir Peter Bazalgette. The taskforce will help deliver a plan to grow the creative industries and will set out new policies and government interventions that will help to boost the creative industries’ potential for spreading growth and opportunity. Tom will be talking to panel members:

About CAN

The Capital Angel Network (CAN) is an angel investor network made up of alumni from St Paul’s Girls’ School, St Paul’s Boys School, and Hammersmith Academy. As an established alumni community, we have an enviable opportunity to support entrepreneurs from all backgrounds, as well as to ‘give back’ through widening access and increasing bursaries.

CAN will offer founders, alumni or not, access to a network of engaged investors, who are open to providing seed, early-stage or growth capital. These angels will in turn, pledge to donate up to 20% of related proceeds to support the founding mission of the schools that educated them; namely creating bursaries and opportunities for children no matter their background.

Our overriding goal is to build a virtuous flow of new capital between alumni, businesses and schools to fuel growth and expand access. While we’re at it, however, we also want to create some fun and approachable networking settings for the alumni of all partner schools.

Purpose:

  • Build a virtuous flow of new capital between alumni, businesses and schools to fuel growth and expand access.

Mission:

  • Through creating a fun and accessible angel network of investment and networking opportunities for alumni of partner schools.

Vision:

  • Provide capital to fuel the growth of the brightest businesses and minds no matter their background.
