AI Engineering Meetup July - Plastic Labs
Join us for our July AI Engineering Meetup. This is a monthly series for engineers, researchers, and builders interested in AI development. We explore how foundation models are being integrated into real-world products, what tools and techniques are emerging, and what’s next for the field.
AI is no longer just a research discipline—it’s becoming a core part of software development. AI Engineers work at the intersection of machine learning, software engineering, and product development, making powerful models (like GPT-4, Claude, and open-source alternatives) and in real applications.
We're thrilled to be joined by Plastic Labs Co-Founder and CEO Vince Trost. Vincent has a background studying research and development engineering from Penn State, while there he also apprenticed in the Kernel 4 Block Fellow via Gitcoin. From there he worked as a data science engineer at Passage Protocol, the membership layer of web3 before Co-Founding Plastic Labs.
Plastic Labs is building solutions for personal identity in an agentic world. Even though ai spawns through generative procedures, it ends up with average results for the average user. This results in frustration, limited effectiveness and sweeping responses. AI needs to understand each user directly, honcho fixes this, a simple API that gives agents social cognition.
