About Event

Are you interested in a role that helps others? Are you interested in offering advice, support and guidance to those in need? Do you feel you’d like to be involved with an organisation where you make a direct and meaningful contribution to helping others?

Citizens Advice is a UK based charity offering support to people who are struggling financially. Roles at Citizens Advice require an ability to deal with people in need, and we suggest those who have a high degree of resilience and an ability to empathise and relate would be ideal. The training you’ll need will be provided – it is your life experience and ability to relate to others which they are interested in.

In terms of the hours and days, Citizens Advice work on a 4 day work week and they are open minded and supportive around flexible working requests but this works both ways.

These are employment opportunities and payment is fair and in line with charity salaries BUT, if money is your main driver or need, we’d suggest these roles will not suit you at this time.

This is a great opportunity to come and meet with Andrea White, who looks after the recruitment of Citizens Advice Gateshead, and whilst the roles she is recruiting for are based there, the roles she is looking for are common to the wider UK. So, if you are interested or have considered roles like this, we’d welcome you to attend.

This will be a relaxed session, where Andrea describes some of the key roles she’s looking to recruit for, and you come armed with your questions and interest in understanding how it all works.

About Andrea White

Andrea is the Recruitment & Volunteer Programme Lead at Citizens Advice Gateshead. She moved into the third sector in 2021 and hasn't looked back. She finds the Charity sector an aspirational and rewarding environment, working with colleagues and volunteers who are motivated to make a difference in the community through social justice.

Her current role, Talent Acquisition Manager, gives her the opportunity to meet lots of fantastic people who are looking to use their skills and experience to do good.
