McKenzie Cona, Austin Chapter City Director | ESG Partnerships & Events Program Manager, Indeed
Originally from Akron, Ohio, and now proudly calling Austin, Texas home. McKenzie's journey with Indeed began in 2017, and since then, she has made remarkable strides within the company. Starting in HR and later transitioning to Marketing, she quickly showcased her talents on a global scale, particularly in orchestrating impactful events. Now, McKenzie brings her expertise and passion to the ESG Partnerships and Programs team, where she plays a vital role in driving meaningful partnerships and initiatives. With her dedication and innovative mindset, McKenzie continues to make invaluable contributions to Indeed's mission of Helping ALL People Get Jobs.
With special Guest Dr. Chela White, Executive Advisor for Talent Intelligence, Indeed
Dr. Chela White is a passionate advocate for equity, community, and professional development, dedicated to helping individuals thrive in their careers and beyond. Currently serving as an Executive Advisor for Talent Intelligence at Indeed.com, she consults with executives on hiring, retention, and recruiting strategies, while also working independently as a career strategist, facilitator, and keynote speaker.
With over 15 years of experience, Dr. White has focused on training teams and senior leaders on topics including Career Development, Crucial Conversations, Insights Discovery, and Unconscious Bias. She recently launched Hey Stranger, a curated, social dining experiment designed to foster community in a low-stakes environment.
As a first-generation college graduate, Dr. White earned her undergraduate degree and Masters degree from Louisiana State University and the University of West Florida, respectively. She then received the prestigious Huel D. Perkins Fellowship and completed her Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Resource Leadership Development from Louisiana State University.
In her spare time, Dr. White enjoys cooking elaborate meals, reading, wheel throwing pottery, and traveling.
