About Event

Event Overview:

As part of Circular Economy Week, we invite you to join us for an engaging panel discussion titled "Innovating for Circularity." This event will feature thought leader and innovator, SATCoL’s Majonne Frost, Head of Environment and Sustainability and will be moderated by Lucy Kebbell, founder of The WIP. Together, we will explore the innovative approaches driving the circular economy and examine the collaborative efforts that are shaping a sustainable future.

Why Circular Economy Week?

Circular Economy Week is a critical initiative aimed at raising awareness and accelerating the transition towards a circular economy—a system where resources are reused, repurposed, and recycled to minimise waste and environmental impact. As part of it’s 7th annual event the week is dedicated to showcasing the power of collaboration and innovation in creating sustainable solutions that benefit both the planet and society.

About the Panel Discussion:

Our panel discussion, "Innovating for Circularity," will delve into the heart of these efforts. We will discuss the strategies and technologies behind successful B2B partnerships that prioritise sustainability, with a focus on what happens to unsold stock donated to the Salvation Army Trading Company. The conversation will cover:

  • Partnership Dynamics: How organisations are working together to close the loop on waste, from collection and fibre to fibre recycling to repurposing.

  • Impact on Unsold Stock: A look at the innovative processes that ensure donated items are given a second life, reducing waste and supporting community needs.

  • Future of Circular Technology: Insights into the emerging technologies and practices that are driving the next wave of circularity.

This event is not only an opportunity to learn about SATCoL’s cutting-edge solutions but also to network with professionals and organisations committed to making a positive environmental impact.

Who Should Attend:

This event is ideal for sustainability professionals, circular economy advocates, policymakers, business leaders, and anyone interested in learning more about how innovative partnerships are shaping the future of circularity.

Be part of the conversation and discover how together we can innovate for a more sustainable and circular future.

About Salvation Army Trading Company:

Salvation Army Trading Company (SATCoL) is the trading arm of The Salvation Army, raising money for charity through nationwide reuse and repurposing schemes. We actively encourage textile reuse and recycling through 9,000 clothing banks, take back schemes, 250 charity stores; nationwide school programmes and modern processing centres. As the largest charity owned textiles collector in the UK, each year SATCoL diverts over 250 million items to good uses, including over 67,000 tonnes of textiles.

The profits raised from the resale of the generous donations we receive is donated to The Salvation Army to continue to support the great work they do for the most vulnerable across the UK.

About The WIP

The WIP is a platform and community that supports small businesses to be successful and sustainable. Founded by former fashion stylist Lucy Kebbell, we aim to address the two primary barriers to businesses meeting Net Zero and UN Sustainable Development Goals which are lack of knowledge and lack of funding.
