Making Friends is back, and this time we’re learning to embroider! Sarah Roberts, the East Atlanta-based artist behind 'In the Quiet Hours' will teach us the basics of embroidery, providing all the the materials you’ll need to complete the project, including a hoop, needle, embroidery floss, and t-shirt. No previous embroidery know-how is required - Sarah will show us the ropes as we meet new friends and share our time together.
Sarah has created some custom designs celebrating spring exclusively for the Making Friends community! So come join us in the joy of making something beautiful and leave with your very own hand-stitched t-shirt, as well as the basic tools you’ll need to complete more projects at home.
We'll be meeting at the Elsewhere Brewing Greenhouse Taproom in West Midtown. Elsewhere offers a fantastic selection of beers, cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy* while you stitch.

More about Sarah
Sarah has been stitching since adolescence and teaching embroidery since new motherhood, some 10 years ago. Sarah has spread her knowledge of heritage textile techniques all over the Atlanta area in settings from living rooms to conference rooms, and sewing studios to breweries. Sarah loves sharing the joy, empowerment, and community that creativity and craft can bring.
