​After traveling around the world from Berlin to London to Lisbon to Malta to Mexico City, we have finally arrived in Riyadh! 🇸🇦

​📦 WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

​Duck the Small Talk is an out-of-the-box social experience where strangers come together for an evening of meaningful, fun, and deep conversation. It’s also just a different & cool way of meeting new people by getting out of your comfort zone and skipping the small talk!

​​​Join us for an evening of games, talks, and connections with friends you haven’t met yet. Join if you get annoyed after being asked what you do, where you are from, and how long you have been in Riyadh every single time you meet someone. If you feel that there are better questions in life then this is the place for you. 🙌

​📓 HOW DOES IT WORK?

​We start with a short & sweet intro talk followed by a few light-hearted group games to warm up. After that, we split you up into small groups and start with the conversation rounds (with 3 people).

​We'll have our own awesome question cards that will guide the flow of the conversation. (You’ll never have to speak in public if you don’t want) You'll be guided by an experienced host who'll make sure everything goes smoothly. 🍭 (introverts, you'll love it too ❤️)

​🕹 HOW TO JOIN?

​Our events are limited to 30 guests to ensure a cozy atmosphere. (more than that is a party!) We prioritize a balance in gender and cultural diversity. Request to join above and we'll give you an answer in less than 48 hours!

📍 WHERE IS IT?

​We host our events in awesome cafes & parks across the city. The exact location will be revealed once we confirm your spot! 🎟️ You'll be able to check out the neighborhood at the bottom of this page. This edition will take place in a cafe in Diplomatic Quarter.

​After her time working in London, Samar returned to Riyadh — and brought the fun with her (cue: DTST!). She works at the intersection of strategy, innovation, and purpose-driven projects. With experience spanning consulting, tech, and non-profit sectors, she’s passionate about building things that matter — whether that’s a global initiative or a space for meaningful human connection.

She finds energy in thoughtful conversations, long walks, and bringing people together in ways that feel real and intentional. For her, hosting is about curiosity, honest reflection, and shared laughter. She’s excited to meet you and step into the experience together ⋆˙⟡♡

🤓 QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE

​‣ Can I come alone?
Of course, in fact, we encourage it!

​‣ Can I be late?
Please don't. We start 15 min after the official start. Late arrivals tend to disrupt the flow of the event.

​‣ Can I bring my pet/llamas?
It's always a yes for us but ask us beforehand, please.

‣ Can I get a refund if I can't make it?
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds or ticket transfers to another event date if you cannot attend with a notice of less than 4 days notice. However, feel free to pass on your ticket to a friend, provided they also sign up the form :)
