World Usability Day – Design Jam!
Designing for a better world
World Usability Day is a day to celebrate and advocate for making things work better by enhancing effectiveness, efficiency, safety or enjoyment. This year's theme is ‘Designing for a Better World’ and is about contributing to a more accessible and environmentally-conscious world.
Join Calgary UX and MRU’s Information Design program as we explore how to ensure that all voices, especially those from underrepresented groups, are included in and can meaningfully participate in civic discussions. Together, we’ll envision ways to support a more inclusive, empowering and co-created civic experience.
All abilities and backgrounds are welcome in this design jam– no technical skills, existing knowledge or experience is needed!
What to know
The event will begin at 5:00 pm with time to socialize and eat. Drinks, pizza and some other snacks/sides will be provided.
The design jam will officially begin at 5:45 pm and we'll assemble you in teams so that you can meet other members of Calgary's usability community!
You'll be provided with all the materials you'll need including paper, markers, whiteboards, etc.
Suggested Donation
While MRU's Information Design program is covering the cost of supplies and some food for this event, your donation will ensure we have enough food for everyone, and maybe even a couple of small prizes for the winning teams! This is an optional donation and if cost is a barrier for you, please change the donation amount to $0 when you select your ticket.
Thank you so much for your support!
