About Event

Do you feel you are doing too many different things and lack focus?

Do you push your art practice (and yourself) too hard but don’t value the work you've done?

Do you want to find a way to talk about your work with other people?

Do you want to step outside the current art trends on social media? (unless you are a commercial illustrator of course!)

Join me for a Pop-up Workshop about how to reflect on your work

  • I will show you my process on how I distill my drawings and the questions I ask myself.

  • How I break the rules and how I come to a subject matter that keeps on giving.

  • How to value your “repetitive” drawings.

  • Be conscious about what you admire in other people’s work but don’t need to adopt in yours - example: meticulous drawing can be combined with fast and scribbly

  • Accept how you prefer to draw. Sometimes we feel we must draw a certain way but it's not our way.

You will leave with questions you can ask yourself about the work you are producing and a sense of being on the right path: Yours.

A recording will be sent afterwards for those who can't attend live.

Kind things people have said about working with me:

As a watercolor painter, it was rewarding to experience this residency with artists representing different styles and mediums. Luisa translated our differences into a common language that sparked rich, engaging dialogue. I learned so much about my personal motivations and visual vocabulary. I now have the tools to stay motivated and committed to completing future art projects. - Past participant of In Flow Online Artists Residency

The In Flow Residency was a wonderful experience! In it I found a calm and meaningful space to meet with other artists navigating their creative work and life. Everything Luisa prepared was insightful and thoughtfully crafted to facilitate good conversation and intentional space for creating in community. The residency helped me to shift my perspective in some important ways, let go of some fears, and start to trust myself more with the things that I wanted to be making. Committing to the 4 weeks helped me to finish a big project I had been working on. I would highly recommend this experience! -Claire Lemp @clairesahara

Luisa's focus on process, experimentation, and self-reflection led me to notice my tendencies and to begin to identify a visual vocabulary that has inspired some very fun new work I'm excited to continue exploring. I found delight and ease in my work. Then, to do this with a group of other artists -- makes it feel like I'm not just babbling away in a vacuum. - Past participant in In Flow Online Artist's residency
