drand Code Walkthroughs
The drand community and developer base is expanding rapidly. drand usage is gaining momentum with many applications using drand to draw randomness for their systems. Code walkthroughs are a great way to gain a holistic view of the system, become familiar with nitty gritty details and ask questions in real time.
With those benefits in mind, we have designed and will be running a series of code walkthroughs on the drand codebase. The series consists of eight (8) sessions, taking place every other Tuesday at 1430 UTC, starting on the 20th of June. Each session is scheduled to last approximately 45mins with 30mins for Q&A and pair programming assistance.
Session topics are as follows - read the blogpost for more details:
Session 1: “How to use the CLI”
Session 2: “What is a drand beacon? How is it created?”
Session 3: “drand Cryptographic Primitives”
Session 4: “drand’s Distributed Key Generation (DKG)”
Session 5: “The different layers of the drand system: from the daemon and the beacon process to storage/sync manager and the client”
Session 6: “drand’s Networking Stack & Monitoring Infra”
Session 7: “drand’s Storage & Sync Functionality”
Session 8: “Client Libraries”
Dates and session topics are subject to minor changes. Any modifications will be reflected in this event page.
