Break out of your day-to-day to experience a fun and celebratory occasion on-farm at JSM Organics. You’ll tour the fields, taste berry varietals fresh off the plants, and share a farm-cooked BBQ lunch with the Rootstock community and a cohort of entrepreneurial organic farmers.
Master Grower Javier Zamora, founder of JSM, is a gifted storyteller who educates all ages as effortlessly as he entertains – every story is a lesson that will make you laugh.
This intimate event is more than just a meal; it's a celebration of community and the journey of food from soil to table. We'll be joined by aspiring farmers from ALBA (Agriculture and Land-Based Training Association), an exceptional local nonprofit creating economic opportunities for aspiring organic farmers through land-based education in the Salinas Valley. Javier, an ALBA alumnus and mentor, will share his experiences and celebrate the ALBA community.
Javier Zamora is a second-generation farmer who founded JSM Organics in 2012 with just 1.5 acres. Today, his farm spans over 100 acres in Royal Oaks, California, where he employs regenerative practices such as cover cropping, composting, and crop rotation to nurture the soil and produce high-quality organic fruits, vegetables, and flowers. Javier's commitment to sustainable agriculture and community empowerment has made JSM Organics a model for small-scale farming, attracting visitors from around the world who come to learn from his methods.
