About Event

​Women in AI Club is dedicated to connecting, empowering, and elevating women founders, investors, and talents in artificial intelligence. We partner with AI leaders, VCs, and service providers to support women in founding, investing, and building in the AI space.

This event will explore the rapidly evolving landscape where artificial intelligence intersects with legal frameworks, shedding light on the challenges, opportunities, and ethical considerations that are shaping the future

Please join Women in AI Club an insightful event exploring the intersection of artificial intelligence and the legal landscape. As AI technologies continue to advance, they challenge existing legal frameworks and raise critical questions about regulation, ethics, and governance. AI x Law: AI and Legal Boundaries brings together leading experts from the fields of AI, law, and ethics to discuss the implications of AI on our legal systems and the role of law in guiding responsible AI development.

Shannon Yavorsky is the head of Orrick’s global Cyber, Privacy & Data Innovation group and co-leads the Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning practice. She is a leading authority on United States (U.S.) and European (EU) privacy, cybersecurity and AI issues. She is uniquely qualified in California, England and Wales and helps global companies navigate the increasingly complex global privacy, cybersecurity and AI regulatory landscape. She advises public and private companies across several sectors, including life sciences and health technology, financial services, private equity, insurance, social media and technology on a range of EU and U.S. federal and state privacy laws. Shannon also helps clients undertake comprehensive privacy, cybersecurity and AI risk assessments, evaluates privacy, security and AI risks in corporate transactions and drafts and negotiates data-related contracts. She advises clients on cross-border data transfers, data breaches and developing global privacy and AI compliance programs.

Megan Ma is a Research Fellow and the Associate Director of the Stanford Program in Law, Science, and Technology and the Stanford Center for Legal Informatics (CodeX). Her research focuses on the use and integration of generative AI in legal applications and the translation of legal knowledge to code, considering their implications in contexts of human-machine collaboration. She also teaches courses in computational law and insurance tech at the Law School. Dr. Ma is also currently an Advisor to the PearX for AI program, Editor-in-Chief for the Cambridge Forum on AI, Law, and Governance, and the Managing Editor of the MIT Computational Law Report and a Research Affiliate at Singapore Management University in their Centre for Computational Law. Megan received her PhD in Law at Sciences Po and was a lecturer there, having taught courses in Artificial Intelligence and Legal Reasoning, Legal Semantics, and Public Health Law and Policy. She has previously been a Visiting PhD at the University of Cambridge and Harvard Law School respectively.

Smita Rajmohan is a Senior Counsel at Autodesk where she acts as the lead legal business partner for Artificial Intelligence Platform and co-heads the AI/ML Practice Group. She is heavily involved in generative AI governance, AI development and AI adoption across the company, working with research, product, marketing and sales teams to drive innovation while managing risk. Smita previously worked as a Hardware Product Counsel at Apple, contributing to product launches for iPad, AirTag and AirPods. She has extensive experience with responding to regulatory enquiries and handling consumer protection issues.

Alexandra Wood, advises startups and high-growth tech and life sciences companies from formation to exit. Alex’s work encompasses a broad range of industries and corporate matters, including formations, compensation, venture capital financings, debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, tender offers, strategic transactions, IPOs and corporate governance. Alex’s prior company-side representations include Carta, Docker, GitLab, 6Sense, Branch Metrics, LTK (fka rewardStyle), Quizlet, Niantic, Gen Digital (fka Symantec) and Streamlit, among others. Alex also has represented leading venture capital firms and strategic investors, including GGV Capital, Menlo Ventures, GV, NEA, Insight Venture Partners, Fidelity Growth Partners, Merck Research Venture Labs, Trinity Ventures and Comcast Ventures. Alex started her practice in the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices of Fenwick & West LLP and another major national law firm. Prior to her career in law, Alex managed international development programs in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.

Ileana Falticeni is a dedicated business partner and customer advocate with 20+ years of legal, compliance, privacy and policy experience in heavily regulated industries. She is passionate about enabling rapid, effective and responsible company growth, especially during times of industry transformation and change. Ileana has held General Counsel, leadership and product development roles in Silicon Valley AI/ML-based technology companies since 2014 and was previously a legal and compliance executive at Barclays Bank and TD Bank in NY, London and Toronto. Prior to going in-house, Ileana was an associate with Shearman & Sterling LLP in London and NY. She earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude from Georgetown Law and her Bachelor of Science from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C.
