Ethics, meditation, and wisdom – known as the Three Trainings – are the three complementary aspects of the Buddhist path of practice. A summary of the Noble Eight-fold Path, the Three Trainings offer a complete, balanced, and effective path toward the elimination of suffering and a life well lived.

David Slaymaker began studying with Master Sheng Yen in 1995. He has given Dharma talks and lead mediation and Dharma classes at CMC, lead meditation classes, 1-day retreats and Beginner’s Mind Retreats at DDRC, and leads half-day mediation workshops at DDMBANJ. He lives with his wife in New Jersey where he is a professor of biology.
