ABOUT SODA
The Statement of Digital Assets (SoDA) was originally developed as a tool to bridge on-chain activity with US GAAP balance sheet reporting. What began as an internal best practice evolved into a public-benefit collaboration, culminating in the release of the first SoDA whitepaper in 2023 — co-authored by leaders in crypto finance, accounting, and technology.
The first SoDA Symposium took place in 2024 at the House of Web3 in San Francisco, bringing together professionals from firms like a16z crypto, EY, Deloitte, OP Labs, Bitwave, and Hash Basis to discuss the framework’s real-world applications and future.
Today, SoDA continues to serve as a foundation for best practices in digital asset finance. Current initiatives include international accounting standard integration (IFRS, ASPE, Swiss CO), wallet infrastructure and custody mapping, token rollforward reporting, and more.
