When done well tags unlock powerful patterns and insights. When done poorly tags create extra work with false signals as the reward. Chaotic data labeling feels like work, but it doesn’t lead to insight.
Being conservative and intentional with tags is key. Applying tags in a consistent way with collaborators requires shared understanding and rigor.
