Distributed Systems Reading Group
A reading group for folks interested in learning more about distributed systems: we pick a paper to read each month (classic or contemporary), a volunteer presents a summary, and then a general discussion afterward. (Attendees are expected to come having read the material).
Please suggest papers for the 2023 Sessions here! Current papers are as follows:
Jan: Reflections on trusting distributed trust (2022, HotNets) by Dauterman, et. al.
Feb: Distributed Reset (1990, FSTTCS) by Arora and Gouda
March: Multiparty Languages: the Choreographic and Multitier Cases
May: A.M.B.R.O.S.I.A: Providing Performant Virtual Resiliency for Distributed Applications by Goldstein (VLDB 2019)
June: A Taxonomy of Job Scheduling on Distributed Computing Systems by Lopes and Menasce (inspired by https://fly.io/blog/carving-the-scheduler-out-of-our-orchestrator/)
