Pride for the Quiet Queers
A night for those who celebrate in lowercase
Hannah Gadsby once asked,
“Where do the quiet gays go?…
My favorite sound in the whole world is the sound of a teacup finding its place on a saucer.
It’s very difficult to flaunt that lifestyle in a parade.”
This night is for quiet pride. For those who find joy in stillness, softness, and warm company. We’ll have coffee and tea, and space to work on your own projects. Soft lighting, quiet conversations, gentle music, and a lot of room to be yourself.
I'll provide coffee, teas, and snacks/treats. Dinner isn't really included, but you're welcome to bring food just for you or food to share.
Bring something to make or work on: knitting, sketching, embroidery, journaling, a puzzle, Lego, a writing project... whatever helps you settle in.
We’ll have some paper & pens, lego bricks & puzzles on hand too, if you come empty-handed.
If you've ever felt you need a place to celebrate pride without the flash, this is that place.
