AI ToolsDays: Can we build better tools for AI and Humans?
Join us for AI ToolsDays as we look to explore, understand, and get answers to pressing questions about the AI tools shaping our world. What tools are out there? How can they enhance your work or life? Which ones are worth exploring further? Uncover practical insights, learn from real-world applications, and discover how to make the most of these technologies. Whether you're an AI beginner or looking to expand your toolkit, AI ToolsDays is the perfect space to learn and grow.
S1E2: Can we build better tools for AI and Humans?
In this episode, we begin with Noam Youngerman and Jacob Zhitomirsky from fmr.ai, an early-stage AI introspection startup. They'll share their groundbreaking work on applying AI introspection techniques for Alignment use-cases, including a demonstration of their 'Polygraph' system that quantitatively measures subjective opinions held by open-weight models. The discussion will cover practical applications for model realignment during both fine-tuning and inference phases.
Following this, we're joined by DesignPro's Mohammed Abdoolcarim, former Stanford d.school graduate and ex-Product Lead at Siri/Apple, who will explore how AI is reshaping the design landscape. Drawing from his experience building "Grammarly for UX" and leading product development at Siri and Apple, Mohammed will discuss the exciting intersection of AI and design, from current innovations to future possibilities. Want to explore the tools before the session? Check them out here! :)
This comprehensive session will give you insights into both the technical developments in AI introspection and alignment, as well as the practical applications of AI in design.
NOTE: Sharings start at 4.00pm.
Mohammed is a graduate of the Stanford d.school. He has experience as the product manager at Siri, and has previously worked at Google, Apple, and Misfit (which was acquired by Fossil). Currently, Mohammed is the co-founder of DesignPro, a new AI-driven task manager created specifically for designers to improve task organization and management in Figma.
Jacob Zhitomirsky is Chief Scientist at fmr.ai. Previously he has 9 years of research experience in fields ranging from cybersecurity research, static code analysis, ML introspection & explainability.
Noam Youngerman is CTO at fmr.ai. In previous roles he headed the R&D Division of Planet Nine, leading research across cybersecurity, ML explainability, and reverse engineering of AI models.
Attendance is prioritized for Lorong AI members.
