About Event

What does it even mean to be in a community? How do leaders bring their communities to life? How can we make our communities healthy places to be in? In this fireside chat, we'll be delving into the art and science of community design.

Since she was 17, Gwendolyn Ang has always strived to help the Filipino youth become better decision-makers and creative thinkers. As an Executive Board member of the Archers Consulting Group and DLSU Freshman Engineering Government, she worked to institutionalize innovative thinking practices across both organizations. She credits her own growth and leadership to witnessing how community is lived out in Effective Altruism PH, UX+, and The Bumpy Career, where she served in various capacities. Today, she spends her days learning how to learn, and figuring out how to thrive as a late-diagnosed ADHD’er. She also tinkers with Industrial Engineering projects, carrying strong interests in systems engineering, and human factors and ergonomics. Learn more about Gwen at her Linkedin and Twitter.

Cams is the current President of User Experience Society. She believes that community-driven, honest, and sustainable design is the ultimate goal, coming from humble beginnings herself. As a generalist, Cams has worn multiple hats in project management, product design, and business development for local and international clients. Above the work though, she loves to channel her energy in mentoring and learning from young minds in her student-grown UX community. To clear her mind, she like to play crossword, do yoga, and cook. Learn more about Cams through her website and Linkedin.
