Join us on Thursday, May 9 from 3:30-5:00pm for a panel discussion with Professor emeritus and founder of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Jerry Harris, former Dean of Stanford Earth, Steve Graham, and Associate Professor and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Paula Welander.
Discussion will be moderated by Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at SDSS, Lupe Carrillo. Panelists will reflect on the beginnings of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, now the SDSS DEI office, and discuss the creation and implementation of the DEI Action Plan and how the lessons of the last 14 years since these efforts can guide us into the future. A reception of light refreshments/snacks will follow.
