ClimateTech Coffee: Adaptation & Resilience
Important Venue Update: This month will NOT be at Lazarus. Our friends at JDI have kindly offered to host at their office at Springdale General in Building 5, so we'll be meeting there instead (and don't worry, we'll still have coffee).
Most of our past meetups have focused on technologies and approaches around mitigating the root cause of climate change, but there's another side to the coin - how do we prepare and adapt to destabilization from climate change? To help answer that question we'll be joined by Cassidy Gasteiger from ClimateWorks.
Cassidy is the program manager for ClimateWorks' Climate Adaptation & Resilience program, which aims to help communities withstand intensifying climate shocks with an initial focus on extreme heat events and climate migration. Prior to that Cassidy was a data scientist and researcher working on projects at the intersection of food systems, oceans, economic development, and climate.
ABOUT CLIMATETECH COFFEE:
ClimateTech Coffee is an informal meetup to learn and connect with people passionate about reversing climate change.
You can expect one or two short, deck-less lightning talks from a local business leader, policy expert, or researcher to share what they're working on and what they're excited about, followed by an open conversation with the audience.
Whether you're just starting your climate journey or you've been working in the field for years, everyone is welcome
