Yi Inchul — “From the Invisible to the Visible”
Solo Exhibition in Paris | July 2025
Venue: ArtVerse, 5 bis rue Beauce, 75003 Paris
ArtVerse is proud to present the first solo exhibition in France by Lee Inchul, a seminal figure in Korea’s contemporary Minjung art movement. Since the 1980s, Lee has explored themes of labor, social identity, and memory through woodblock prints and wooden reliefs, blending traditional craftsmanship with powerful social commentary.
“Voyage des Souvenirs” is more than a retrospective. It marks a meaningful turning point in the artist’s career — the first time Lee introduces digital works as part of his artistic practice. Bridging the tactile depth of wood with the possibilities of digital media, this exhibition offers a rare chance to witness an artist expand his language without losing the clarity of his voice.
Lee’s works resonate with human dignity and resilience, and in this new Paris exhibition, he reinterprets the stories of everyday people with fresh nuance and visual innovation. Through carefully constructed forms and poignant imagery, the artist invites viewers on a journey across generations, geographies, and mediums.
