Tech Future Taskforce: Kick-off Event
When:
PLEASE NOTE: Date change from the 3rd March to the 12th March
Wednesday 12th March - 9am - 12noon
What is the Tech Future Taskforce?
We are thrilled to introduce the Tech Future Taskforce on Social Mobility, a pioneering initiative in collaboration with the Sutton Trust and the Hg Foundation, aimed at creating systemic change and enhancing socio-economic inclusion and diversity in the UK tech sector. This industry-led coalition brings together top employers, key stakeholders, and social mobility organisations to collectively tackle the barriers to inclusion and representation.
With just 9% of the UK tech workforce coming from working-class backgrounds—lagging behind sectors like finance and law—our mission is to improve these figures by uniting leading employers to take action. Founding members such as Google, Microsoft, GCHQ, the BBC, Fidelity, Citi, AMS, Siemens and Multiverse are already on board, and this inaugural event marks a significant step in mobilising the industry.
What is the kick-off Event?
This event is only the first step in Tech Future’s programme of work and serves as a call to action for the broader industry.
We will hear from the Rt Hon Peter Kyle MP, Secretary of State, for Science, Innovation and Technology who will be the opening keynote speaker for the kick-off event of Tech Future! Plus senior industry leaders and social mobility advocates - discussing actionable suggestions for improving socio-economic inclusion ranging from getting outreach right to nurturing the right recruitment and retention process, and measuring success.
Our aim with this and future events is to create a space for dialogue, networking, and commitment to change.
Join us in shaping the future of socio-economic inclusion in UK tech!
Spaces are limited and we will be managing the guest list to create a balanced and impactful event for everyone. RSVP now to register for a place.
