About Event

Join ILFI as we explore the monumental tasks of designing, constructing, and operating a regenerative building in the harsh yet beautiful alpine tundra environment at Pikes Peak, Colorado.

Our expert panel of project team members will provide an insider's perspective on the Pikes Peak Summit Visitor Center, the highest-elevation project to pursue the Living Building Challenge. Building in an extreme environment of below freezing temperatures and wind gusts over 200 mph presents unique technical challenges. Combining these challenges with a volume of one million annual visitors presents the opportunity to make a significant impact. Join this panel conversation for unique insights and lessons learned around biophilic design, building resilience, water and energy solutions for this major tourist attraction.
