About Event

We're inviting young people aged 16-25 in Medway to help develop a fictional digital story: Forest Keep.

Set in a future metaverse woodland at the public grounds of Rochester Castle, Forest Keep explores the idea of ‘home’ amidst the climate crisis. The public will be drawn into an augmented reality story trail via mobile, unravelling an interactive multi-path plot leading to the Keep at the castle.

There are opportunities for young people aged 16-25, including students, to get involved. Help us create 3D models for the woodland, write parts of the story and make new AI characters.

Led by John Whall and Adam Glen, our workshops offer a chance to collaborate, experiment and bring ideas to life.

Workshop 3 takes place on Friday 28 March, 6-8pm and will continue on:
• Friday 4 April
• Friday 18 April

There will be an in-person site visit on Friday 25 April at the Guildhall Museum and Rochester Castle from 10am-4pm.

You can commit to as many workshops as you like. Book your free place now!

The online workshops will be hosted on Google Meet, and a secure link will be emailed in advance. To access Google Meet you will need a phone, tablet or laptop/desktop computer and an internet connection.

About Forest Keep

The year is 2064. The height of the energy crisis. Seamless travel between the metaverse and real world is now possible.

Teenagers Amelia & Jason spend most of their time in the virtual forest at Rochester Castle. After a major power outage the pair become stuck in the forest, alongside its AI creatures who are evolving. To get out they must find a way to the castle keep. But what awaits them inside? And what kind of world are they returning to?
