About the VOSW project

The VOSW (Vancouver Open Source Week) project is a volunteer-led initiative dedicated to engaging and empowering local open-source communities to advance UN Sustainable Development Goal 8 (SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth), with a focus on fostering open-source entrepreneurship and helping young talents navigate their careers in open source. Its mission is to create open-source software that enables meaningful connections between thought leaders, innovators, founders, and investors through innovative events, mentorship programs, and networking opportunities. Inspired by the successful ecosystems of London and Berlin, its vision is to elevate Vancouver as a premier global hub for open-source innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
