The panel, a collection of works by Filipino scholars on different aspects of Philippine politics, governance, society and immigration, seeks to look closer into long-standing development and social issues in the country--prior to and during the current COVID-19 pandemic. We take into account less the immediate impact of the pandemic in the Philippines, and more how the contentious situation has fed into long-standing problems and challenges surrounding not only the population's quality of life, but also how it translates into governance and addressing long-standing tensions.
The event will be chaired by Dr. Mario Aguja of Mindanao State University.
