Our Web3 Pitching Competition ill showcase innovative ideas built on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) blockchain. Startups will present their projects to a panel of judges, including experts, investors, and mentors, focusing on how their Web3 solutions address real-world challenges.
The event will feature impactful talks from leaders like ICP Hub Philippines Co-Founder Nelson Lumbres and Tech Lead Eliezer Rabadon, along with special highlights from our co-presenter Tier One Entertainment. We’ll also have key insights from our partners, DEVCON Philippines and Filipino Web Development Peers, and exciting pitches from our hackathon finalists.

Mechanics:
Event Overview
The iThink Hackathon for PH Startup Week is a competition designed to encourage participants to ideate, build, and pitch a solution that addresses pressing local and global challenges. Participants must form teams to foster collaboration and problem-solving skills.
Track
Web Application Track
- Focus on building innovative and functional web applications.
- Utilize ICP for backend services and API integration.
Prerequisites and Eligibility
- Each participant or team must have access to the Internet and necessary development tools.
- Familiarity with the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) is mandatory, and mentoring for this will be provided.
- Teams must not have received a grant or hackathon prizes from the DFINITY Foundation or ICP HUB Philippines (ISLA Camp) for the project they wish to submit.
- Teams must contain members above the age of 18

Schedule
iThink Hackathon: Pump up the jam is a hybrid hackathon taking place from November 5 to November 15 , that will include both online and in-real life activities.
Registration & Team Formation

- Teams submit a brief description of their background and expertise.
Ideation & Development
- Teams brainstorm solutions for their chosen theme, identifying key issues and proposing innovative solutions.

Checkpoint
- An online checkpoint will be conducted by our mentor to assess the progress of their project and provide feedback and guidance.

Pitch Preparation
- Teams prepare a 5-minute pitch to present their solution, focusing on problem statement, innovation, tech solution, business model, and potential impact.
Final Pitch & Judging
- Each team will have 5 minutes to pitch and 1 minute for Q&A from judges.
- Judges evaluate based on specific criteria (outlined below).
- Winners are announced at the closing ceremony.
Development Requirements
- Web Application Track:
- Must utilize ICP for backend API.
- Frontend can be developed using any technology (e.g., Next.js, Vite, React, Angular, Vue.js).
- Applications should be responsive and user-friendly.
Submission Guidelines
- Submit the source code via GitHub.
- Pre-existing code bases are allowed as long as they integrate the Internet Computer Protocol Backend API.
- Provide a detailed README file including:
- Project description.
- Setup instructions.
- Technologies used.
- Team members and their roles.
- Provide a live demo link or a video walkthrough of the application (max 5 minutes).
- Submission deadline: End of Nov 14, 11:59 PM (local time).
Judging Criteria
- Innovation: Creativity and originality of the idea.
- Functionality: How well the application works and its usability.
- Design and User Experience: Visual appeal and user interaction.
- Technical Implementation: Use of ICP and other technologies
- Presentation: Clarity and effectiveness of the project demo and documentation.
Code of Conduct
- Participants must adhere to the hackathon’s code of conduct.
- Respect for all participants, mentors, and judges is mandatory.
- Any form of cheating will result in immediate disqualification.
