About Event

Join City Year national CEO Jim Balfanz to discuss the relationship between social-emotional development and academic outcomes for students attending systemically under-resourced public schools.

Together, we’ll discuss the results of a new national City Year study by the Everyone Graduates Center at Johns Hopkins University School of Education, which found a statistically significant, consistent relationship between student social-emotional skills and academic outcomes. This is the first 3rd-party validated study that includes City Year Kansas City. The conversation will also include insights from City Year AmeriCorps members and school leaders about how social-emotional learning will take place while school is virtual.

The audience for this virtual event is City Year Kansas City champions and donors and will purposefully be kept small to allow for Q&A.
