About Event

Join us for a panel discussion with a startup security leaders, cloud security experts, a VC/operator, and experienced startup founders as we discuss basic cybersecurity concepts, techniques, tools and strategies – and how to use these to improve your startup value proposition! Attendees will discuss several easy to execute techniques, concepts, and tools to improve your security without breaking the bank.

John Kinsella - Moderator

John Kinsella is the Cofounder & CTO of Cysense, a provider of sanity-saving security tools for small to medium enterprises. Previously he was co-founder and CPO of Layered Insight (acquired by Qualys). His 20-year background has focused on application and network security, from initial design through business-critical production operations. He has brought several enterprise security products to market, consulted internationally on information security topics, and worked with international governance bodies to define security standards and best practices for cloud computing. When possible, he enjoys mentoring and advising people in the information security and startup communities.

Tobias Klingel - Panelist
Aspire, Head of Information Security
Tobias Klingel is the head of information security at Y Combinator-backed fintech startup Aspire. He has extensive industry experience, having previously led security at Siemens Mobility for the region. Tobias specializes in security infrastructure architecture, helping organizations to understand, implement and drive regulatory driven security solutions.

Bryce Boland - Panelist

“Bryce leads the Security Solutions Architecture function in ASEAN and is responsible for helping customers build secure, reliable solutions with AWS. Bryce is passionate about and has spent the last 20 years helping organizations build sustainable security capabilities and reduce the harmful impacts of cyber crime. Prior to joining AWS, Bryce held security leadership roles in financial services and cyber security industry. Most recently he headed the security architecture, consulting and engineering functions at Standard Chartered Bank as they underwent a multi-year security and cloud transformation. Prior to this, he was the APJ CTO for cyber security firm FireEye, where he counselled governments, militaries, companies, and corporate boards in their approach to cyber security. Bryce also spent 10 years building security and technology risk capabilities at UBS Group, including four years as the Group Security CTO, responsible for incorporating security into the enterprise architecture. Bryce holds a master’s degree in computer science with a thesis in cryptography from The University of Auckland. Bryce has lived and worked in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia, Switzerland, and now lives in Singapore with his wife and four daughters.”
