​PIRATEx is the event agency that did a hard pivot from creating their own physical events to becoming the event agency for online events. They went nearly bankrupt in April, managed to turn the company around, and are hiring aggressively since August 2020. PIRATEx expects that - compared to pre-COVID levels - they'll have doubled the workforce by the end of the year. So far, in 2020 they have organized more than 60 online events from small workshops to big trade fairs with tens of thousands of participants. They are already working on big productions for 2021, some of which have 150.000+ participants and 30+ simultaneous live streams.
