Monday Evening Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living (MBCL) with Dominic Cogan
This course is designed as a follow-on course for those who have already completed an 8-week MBSR, MBCT, MSC or similar mindfulness-based course. It allows participants an opportunity to deepen their mindfulness skills through focused compassion training that promotes a healthier and happier life and more fulfilling relationships. Designed for a general audience, it may also be of particular benefit for anyone who finds it hard to be kind themselves or who is living with a chronic pain condition, whether physical or emotional.
This MBCL course is a radical training in learning to be more compassionate towards ourselves and others. It explores the inner and outer science of compassion in an accessible way and introduces participants to a range of new practices that promote a sense of ‘heartfulness’ in relation to all of life’s experiences.
Key Features:
A welcoming and supportive learning environment
8 two and a half hour sessions
A mostly silent Day of Mindfulness and Compassion Practice after completing six sessions of the training
The course is closely based on the material in Erik van den Brink and Frits Koster’s (designers of the course) published manual A Practical Guide to Mindfulness-Based Compassionate Living. Participants are encouraged to buy a copy of this in advance, but it is not essential to do so as learning materials including audio files will be provided
Participants are encouraged to spend between 20 to 45 minutes, doing Compassion-Based Home Practice each day to deepen skills development and support wellbeing
Course Dates:
August 18th, 25th, September 1st, 8th, 22nd, 29th, October 13th, 20th
Please note there will be no Monday night sessions on September 15th or October 6th. There will be a Day of Compassion Practice on Saturday October 18th
