Join us a Fabrik DUMBO for Break & Build, a collaborative evening designed to help you shift your thinking, reframe your challenges, and uncover new pathways forward.
Whether you’re thinking about building a community but don't know where to start, are stuck on generating revenue, or are looking to liven up an existing community: this workshop uses heuristic problem solving (aka practical, creative thinking) to help you break down your issue and rebuild it from a fresh angle.
We're so excited to be joined by Ruthie Berber (Led By Community) and Zach Hawtof (Tightknit) to help facilitate the evening.
What to Expect:
6:00–6:45 PM: Mingle + Settle In
Connect with fellow builders, thinkers, and doers over drinks and light snacks.
6:45–7:00 PM: Problem Deep-Dive (Pick 1):

Community Building: Deepening EngagementYou’ll join one of the above discussion areas (we’ll place you intentionally!) to share a real challenge you’re facing!
7:00–7:15 PM: Reframe the Problem
We’ll work through live examples like:
“I need to raise money” → “Do I need to sell more? Lower my costs? Seek grants?”
Your group will explore multiple framings of each challenge, helping you unlock new solutions.
7:15–7:30 PM: Solution Session
We’ll map out solutions for our re-imagined problem statements. This is the power of reframing!
7:30- 7:40PM: Share Out
7:45PM - OPTIONAL: Start Doing!
