Rocky Mountain Resilience: Colorado Geothermal in Action
The Town of Hayden and Bedrock Energy are thrilled to invite you to a one-of-a-kind event showcasing how geothermal energy is driving the Rocky Mountain region’s resilient energy future.
“Rocky Mountain Resilience: Colorado Geothermal in Action” will bring together leaders from across the energy ecosystem — including U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper — for a day of live demonstrations, real-world insights, and cross-sector collaboration.
The event will take place in Hayden, CO, at the Northwest Colorado Business Park (currently under development within walking distance from the Hayden/Steamboat airport), a project supported by the Colorado Energy Office’s Geothermal Program and the Colorado Office of Just Transition. Bedrock Energy is currently drilling for a district geothermal network.
What to expect:
🔹 Live drilling demonstrations with cutting-edge subsurface tech
🔹 Keynotes and panels with utilities, developers, and public officials
🔹 Insights into real projects that blend energy modernization with rural economic revitalization
🔹 Networking across industries — from drillers to policymakers, tech experts to town planners
This event highlights geothermal as a critical lever for:
🏞️ Economic Development – The geothermal system will serve a new business park in Hayden, supporting efforts to diversify the economy.
🌍 Energy Resilience – Taking place near the soon-to-retire Hayden coal plant, this project models how communities can invest in 24/7 on-site, clean heating and cooling solutions.
⚡ Infrastructure Expansion – Geothermal offers a faster, cheaper, and more resilient alternative to costly new grid investments.
🤖 Technology Innovation – Bedrock Energy is advancing geothermal with AI-driven subsurface modeling and robotic drilling.
👷 Workforce Development – Drilling jobs in geothermal create a new on-ramp for oil and gas workers to return home to the Rockies with stable careers in clean energy.
Whether you're a utility exec, local government leader, driller, or simply curious about how geothermal fits into Colorado’s energy and economic future, this event is for you.
Let’s turn momentum into impact — and reimagine what’s possible in Colorado’s mountain communities.
