Tech Catchup, Networking & Mentoring | Theme: Important decisions in your tech career
Sponsored by Jam.dev - one click bug reports devs love.
Hello everyone and welcome to Tech Catchup, Networking and Mentoring hosted by CS Dojo Vancouver!
As usual, this will be an energetic morning with familiar faces as well as newcomers in our awesome community with lots of interesting conversations and even some casual mentoring opportunities.
Theme and questions of this session
"What's a theme?"
It's a topic and a set of questions you can optionally use to get the conversation started.
It's not a strict rule to follow - it's more of an icebreaker in case you aren't sure what you should talk about!
For this session, the theme is: Important decisions in your tech career
Suggested questions:
- How should one decide what field to go into?
- How should one decide when to switch jobs?
- How should one decide when to create their own business vs working for someone else?
- How did you decide BC is the right place for you?
- How should one balance one's career and things outside of it, e.g., family obligations?
“What’s so special about your community?”
Glad you asked!
Some of the things that make us so unique are:
- The awesome vibes (yes, really)
- The super extra supportive community
- Our inclusiveness and openness to new ideas
It’s something we’d like a lot more people to experience!
Whether you only have 1.5 months of experience in tech or 15 years, we’ll have a place for you.
Whether you are a developer, designer, marketer, founder, or CTO, you'll have someone you can vibe with.
Whether you’re shy or introverted, the host and cohosts will do their best to make sure you feel comfortable and that you get acquainted with our community as soon as possible.
So what are you waiting for?
