Who is Hosting?
The Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking was established in 2017 as UCalgary's innovation hub, thanks to the transformative support of the Hunter Family Foundation. The Hub’s vision extends beyond UCalgary, aiming to cultivate entrepreneurial spirit and bring positive change to Canadians and the national economy. Its goal is to make UCalgary a beacon of entrepreneurship and innovation, embedding entrepreneurial thinking in leaders and organizations while fostering ingenuity and enabling innovation.
Innovate Calgary supports researchers, innovators, and companies from UCalgary across Alberta and beyond. Innovate Calgary manages four themed accelerator hubs, including the Life Sciences Innovation Hub, the Energy Transition Centre, the Social Innovation Hub and the Aerospace Innovation Hub. It also manages UCalgary’s startup investment fund, UCeed, and delivers IP education and strategy programming and support to SMEs.
Creative Destruction Lab - Rockies (CDL-Rockies) is housed within the Haskayne School of Business and operates three unique yet connected programs:
Nurture, which helps very early-stage science and technology founders make meaningful progress toward commercializing their innovations by providing networking opportunities, coaching, mentorship and workshops with industry experts;
CDL, a nine-month objectives-based mentorship program for science and technology-based startups looking to accelerate their path to commercialization; and,
Haskayne ScaleUp, which is designed to fortify business foundations to withstand the pressures of growth at scale.
Each program supports and accelerates the commercialization of science—and technology-based companies, from Canada and beyond, at critical growth stages.
