Code & Context - Coding Dojo 4 - TDD TCG
This is a continuation of our last coding dojo - We will tackle the same tcg coding kata but this time in TDD fashion.
For this very purpose we will use replit’s integrated unit testing for java, and have also prepared a repl for elixir.
You are of course free to code in the language of your choice, given that you know it’s testing frameworks/libraries.
We have also updated our timetable for this coding dojo:
Timetable:
18:00 - 18:30 Code Kata Introduction, Team finding
18:30 - 19:30 Coding Session 1
19:30 - 19:40 Short Retro/Sharing experiences
19:40 - 20:40 Coding Session 2
20:40 - 21:00 Retro/What to do in the next Coding Dojo?
21:00 - Open End Chill out
The challenge:
In this Kata we will be implementing a rudimentary two-player trading card game. The rules are loosely based on Blizzard Hearthstone which itself is an already much simpler and straight-forward game compared to other TCGs like Magic: The Gathering.

How do you get to be a great musician? It helps to know the theory, and to understand the mechanics of your instrument. It helps to have talent. But ultimately, greatness comes from practicing; applying the theory over and over again, using feedback to get better every time.
