​Session Overview: This session will focus on how science fiction can put humans at the center to create innovations for future society and spark discussions to make that future attractive to everyone. More and more are calling for actions to quickly reduce our climate impacts. Scientists are identifying pathways to achieve that. But it is up to us citizens to choose the direction (not the scientists). Thinking about the future is hard. Many are stuck in how things work (or don't) today. To change fast, citizens need to trust in the proposed measures. By writing fiction stories with a focus on social relations, the future becomes more real. In this Ripple, participants will learn about how science fiction has been applied to humanize alternative energy futures, making them more accessible and real.

It is for founders, investors and technologists who would like to learn about and share how they have used fiction, scenario thinking and storytelling to connect with stakeholders and communicate their visions for a sustainable future.
